FILEX 2010 - over too quick?
by Analee Matthews | Sunday, May 02, 2010
After a full-on three days of sessions and socialising, FILEX 2010 has come and gone for another year.
Everyone will have their own highlights of course, but after a quick ask-around in the FILEX back-office, here are some of our key highlights.
The Opening Address received unanimous praise; before Bruce Sullivan's hilarious (and quite moving) keynote speech, an awesome vibe was set for the whole weekend when the stage came alive with DJ Alure and some incredible dancing from A-Live (featuring some of the So You Think You Can Dance contestants from seasons 1 and 2), and a brilliant flashmob performance from the Les Mills BodyJam crew.
Jay Blahnik's inspirational and moving Closing Keynote presentation also got a lot of votes as a highlight of the event. His words and performance in the auditorium this morning took us all on an emotional journey that had us laughing one minute and crying another. What a talent and what a message - he taught us how to live just a bit differently to create an extraordinary life. And what an extraordinary man!
Group Ex-wise, there was an amazing buzz about the '20 years and stepping strong' plenary session, which is not surprising given the group-ex legend Marcus Irwin made his long-awaited return to the spotlight (he’s also been doing the rounds behind a video camera capturing some of the FILEX magic on film), alongside Steve Boedt, Stephen Parker and Min Lomo. The session made for an incredible Step performance, which delegates will be talking about for a long time.
Then of course there was Maureen Hagan's BOSU stepping, the cranking machines at the Australian Fitness and Health Expo, Michol Dalcourt's ViPR sessions, Jay Blahnik and Josh Crosby's IndoRow phenomenon and, for the second year in a row, TRX stealing the spotlight once again.
So tell us - how was FILEX 2010 for you?

Thanks everyone who made Filex 2010 possible. I loved every minute of it. Very inspirational, especially speakers such as Andrew Griffiths, Bruce Sullivan and Jay Blahnik.
I have learned so much. Now I have to put it into practice!
I will be back in 2011.

It was my very first FILEX this year and I'm already looking forward to the next one! I found it so inspirational to listen to all the presenters share their experiences and words of wisdom. The PT business summit was amazing, as was the breakfast. I got so much out of every single presentation I attended and am itching to get started on improving not only my business, but myself. Well done on putting together FILEX 2010.
