Fundamentals of Functional Mobility – Level 1

Help your clients move better, decrease their risk of injury and reach their physical performance goals with AIK’s Fundamentals of Functional Mobility course.

Learn to incorporate specific soft tissue release exercises, joint mobilisations and muscle activations into your sessions and programs, and make a profound impact on your clients, your training and your business!

What you'll learn
  • Optimal methods for warming up your clients that focus on joint mobility, muscle activation, muscle release and stretching
  • The difference between tight and short muscles, and the correct ‘loosening and lengthening’ techniques
  • How to activate weak and underactive muscles
  • Over 40 new exercises comprising 8 joint mobilisations, 8 muscle releases, 19 mobilisations and activations, and 3 effective stretches.
What you'll need

While this course is delivered online, you’ll need to ensure you’re comfortable with the execution of each mobility exercise ahead of your practical assessment so you’ll need access to the following basic equipment:

  • Foam roller
  • Wooden dowel
  • Power band/resistance band/tubing
  • Release ball e.g. tennis or hockey ball
How you’ll be assessed

Fundamentals of Functional Mobility has theory and practical assessment tasks.

Theory

  • 5 multiple choice questions
  • 5 short answer questions

Practical

  • Video yourself coaching a client through 3 mobility exercises based on a provided case study.

Fundamentals of Kettlebell Training– Level 1
