Orangetheory Fitness to open first
Australian studio

Orangetheory® Fitness, the fast-growing group personal training studio franchise is set to open its first Australian facility in the coming weeks at Bondi Junction in Sydney.

The 60-minute heart rate monitored, high intensity, group interval training concept has around 500 clubs across the US, Canada, UK and Colombia and now has its sights set firmly on the Austyralian market.

The Orangetheory Fitness workout is broken into intervals of cardiovascular and strength training, using a variety of equipment including treadmills, rowers, TRX and free weights but its real point of difference is its exclusive heart rate monitoring system.

Based on the science of excess post-exercise oxygen consumption (EPOC), Orangetheory’s five-zone heart rate monitored training is designed to keep heart rates in a target zone that stimulates metabolism, increases calorie burn, and boosts weight loss for up to 24 to 36 hours post-workout.

‘I’m thrilled to be opening the very first Orangetheory Fitness studio in Australia,’ said head trainer and former professional rugby player, Ben Fisher; ‘My passion has always been within the health and fitness industry and I’m excited to bring a revolutionary new way of training to Bondi. The sessions cater to everyone, regardless of their fitness levels. We have parameters for everyone, from people who want to start exercising, to regular exercisers and elite athletes. The best part is the science behind the workouts. Each workout is designed by a team of exercise physiologists and all members wear heart-rate monitors so their results can be tracked in real time.’
