NDIS Personal Training Sessions in Sydney
Looking for an NDIS personal trainer in Sydney? We run NDIS personal training sessions in Sydney built around your disability and goals. Each session gives you Personalised NDIS personal training with a program that matches your fitness level and health needs.
Personal Trainers can work with NDIS participants when the training is tailored and the provider is set up correctly, and our expert NDIS personal trainers do this every day. Participants usually ask first whether they'll be pushed too hard. We start gently and you set the pace.

- Self-managed or plan-managed. Clear session records to attach to claims.

Meet your trainers

Functional Strength Training for Daily Tasks
Functional strength training uses movements like standing up, carrying and stepping. We pair it with light resistance training so everyday tasks feel easier.
Can Training Prepare You for Sport and Community Activity?
Yes, if that's your goal. We can build the strength, balance and confidence for a social sport, a walking group or a local class. Inclusive fitness means you choose the activity, and we get you ready to join in.
NDIS funding
Can Personal Training Be Funded Through an NDIS Plan?
Personal training can often be funded through an NDIS plan, but approval is never guaranteed. It depends on your goals, your plan's wording and how your funding is managed. Check with your planner or support coordinator.
Self-Managed or Plan-Managed: What Changes?
If you're self-managed, you choose any provider and pay invoices yourself, then claim them back. If you're plan-managed, your plan manager pays us directly once we send an invoice. Either way, we give each client clear session records to attach to claims.
Which Support Categories Might Apply?
Exercise is usually linked to your goals and your capacity to build independence, rather than to gym access alone.
Capacity Building and Therapeutic Supports in Your Plan
Look for Capacity Building or Therapeutic Supports funding in your plan. Core support may suit some participants, depending on how care is arranged. Your planner can confirm which line fits your goals.
What Should You Check Before Booking?
- Whether your plan lists exercise or health goals.
- Whether your plan is self-managed, plan-managed or NDIA-managed.
- Whether the provider is an NDIS-registered provider of personal training if your plan requires one.
When comparing NDIS registered Personal Trainers in Sydney, read their reviews and ask about qualifications and experience with your needs.
Who we train
Who We Train and How Each Program Is Tailored
We train adults across a wide range of needs, and every program starts from the individual in front of us. If you're searching for support for disabled adults near me, this is how we shape it around you.
Training for Autistic Adults and People With Intellectual Disability
For Autistic participants and people with intellectual disability, we keep routines predictable, instructions short and the sensory load low. Each person gets an individual program, with visual cues or demonstrations where they help.
Training With Psychosocial Disability or Chronic Conditions
Participants with psychosocial disability often tell us they want steadiness for their mental well-being, so we set a pace you control. For chronic disease management, we build around your GP's or specialist's advice and adjust whenever your condition changes. We don't make clinical claims or diagnose.
Aerobic Exercise for Cardiovascular Fitness
Gentle aerobic exercise such as cycling or walking intervals builds cardiovascular fitness and supports physical energy. We increase the load in small steps.
Getting started
What Happens in a Training Session?
A typical training session runs 45 minutes: a short warm-up, the main exercise block, then a cool-down and a quick check on how you feel.
- 1
Warm-up
A short warm-up to get your body ready for the session.
- 2
Main exercise block
The main exercise block, coached at a level that suits you on the day.
- 3
Cool-down
A cool-down and a quick check on how you feel.
How Does the First Session Work?
We talk through your goal, your current capacity and anything that affects your ability to train. Together we agree a plan for the first few weeks and try a few movements at an easy level. You leave knowing what comes next.
Studio, Gym or Mobile Sessions?
We train in a private studio or a gym, whichever feels more comfortable. Our mobile option brings sessions to your home, using bands, light weights and a mat. Studio and gym sessions add machines and heavier equipment if you want to progress.

Enquire
How Do You Enquire or Book a Session?
Send us an enquiry and tell us your goals, your plan management type and any access needs. We'll confirm availability and talk through how to book your first session.
Whether you're a participant, a family member or a support coordinator, you can contact us directly, and we'll answer any questions about how we work as a provider before you commit.
What Should You Include in Your Enquiry?
The more we know up front, the more useful our first reply will be. It helps to mention:
- Your goals, such as strength, balance, mobility or confidence
- Whether your plan is self-managed, plan-managed or NDIA-managed
- Any access needs, equipment preferences or sensory considerations
- The days and times that suit you best
- Whether a family member or support worker will join sessions
Before you hire
How Do You Choose a Qualified, Registered Provider?
Start by asking who will actually be in the room with you. A qualified trainer holds a current Certificate IV in Fitness, and the best providers can show you their credentials without being asked.
Online reviews are a useful signal, but credentials and cover matter more. In our experience, participants often forget to ask about insurance until after the first session.
Questions to Ask Any NDIS Personal Trainer in Sydney
Before you commit, these are the questions worth asking any NDIS personal trainer in Sydney:
- Can you show me your current Certificate IV in Fitness?
- Do you hold public liability and professional liability insurance?
- Will you work with my other health professionals?
- How do you adjust a session when I have a low-energy day?
Allied health
Trainer or Exercise Physiologist: What Is the Difference?
A trainer builds and coaches your program, while an accredited exercise physiologist has university training in exercise physiology, the study of how the body responds to movement.
Exercise physiologists are one of the allied health professionals who work with injury, disability and chronic conditions. A good provider knows when to bring a physiologist in, and will adjust your program to suit their advice. Basic knowledge of physiology helps too, but it doesn't replace that clinical input.
Exercise & Sports Science Australia Accreditation and AHPRA
Exercise physiologists are accredited through Exercise & Sports Science Australia, so ask for their membership details. Physiotherapists and other registered health practitioners are regulated by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, and you can look up their registration yourself.
Insurance and checks
What Insurance and Checks Should a Provider Hold?
Before you book, ask to see current insurance and screening for everyone who will train you. These protect you, and they're a sign the provider takes the work seriously.
Public Liability Insurance and Professional Liability Insurance Cover
A trainer should hold public liability insurance for injury or property damage during sessions, and professional liability insurance for claims about the advice and programs they give.
Working With Children Check for Younger Participants
If the participant is under 18, the trainer needs a valid Working With Children Check. Ask for the number and the expiry date.
What to Ask to See
- Public liability insurance
- Professional liability insurance
- A Working With Children Check where the participant is under 18
- A current first aid and CPR certificate

Sydney Outdoor Fitness Equipment That Is Wheelchair-Accessible: Where NDIS Participants Can Train Between Sessions
City of Sydney's outdoor fitness equipment list says the equipment beside Alan Davidson Oval in Sydney Park includes wheelchair-accessible apparatus.
For an NDIS participant who uses a wheelchair or has limited mobility, this gives a public place for fitness activity between NDIS personal training sessions in Sydney. We can plan a short training routine around your plan goals to support your independence. Check the council page for current details before you go.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Are Personal Trainers covered by NDIS?
Not automatically. Personal training can be funded when it supports a goal in your plan and the plan includes suitable funding. Your plan manager or planner can confirm whether sessions with a trainer fit your budget before you book.
Is $300 a month a lot for a personal trainer?
$300 a month covers two sessions with a personal trainer, since two sessions at $125 per 45-minute session cost $250. If the trainer's good, they're worth their weight in gold. Check the frequency you need against your budget before committing.
Can I claim gym membership on NDIS?
Generally no, because gym membership is treated as an everyday living cost rather than a funded support. But if the personal training service has the gym included in the fee, then you can get it funded. That's how our service works. Ask your planner whether supervised training suits your goals instead, since that is the kind of support that can be linked to a plan.
Do you work with plan-managed and self-managed participants?
Yes. If you're self-managed, you pay invoices yourself, then claim them back. If you're plan-managed, your plan manager pays us directly once we send an invoice. Either way, we give each client clear session records to attach to claims.
Can sessions happen at home in western Sydney?
Yes. Our mobile sessions reach Greater Western Sydney, including Girraween, Westmead and Campbelltown. We train participants at home or at a nearby community space they already know.
